ABC­news pulled out all the heav­ies to help pro­mote their new iPad app. Using a sphere-like photo inter­face that a viewer can spin to see more — a pretty good hook. It’s one of the most pow­er­ful mar­ket­ing efforts for main­stream media to date. Spe­cial app con­tent, access to the abc archives, and sav­ing sto­ries to look at later are key features.

The talk­ing heads for ABC­news towt the app as a whole new way to expe­ri­ence the news and they empla­size the new ges­tural inter­face of the iPad; you tap, spin, swipe, shake.

Media and busi­ness are embrac­ing iPad’s 3.27 mil­lion owners.
